Happy Belated Thanksgiving, Christmas and everything in between!

It has been quite awhile since I had posted. My only excuse is the holidays consumed too much of my life along with Kayla and my husband. But now I ready to focus on Persnickety and getting my name out there!

One way I was able to that this past November was to go and take pictures @ the MMRF Race
( Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation). What an awesome experience! Words can't begin to express the amazing feeling that was surrounding everyone that day. It was a long day but completely worth it. (The pictures are posted at the begin of all this babbling I am doing)

The New Year is right around the corner, literally 4 days away! My personal resolution: get back to running ASAP. I will be training for two half marathon, one in the spring and the other in the fall. My business resolution, like I mentioned above,is to get my name out there! It can be quite frustrating to have such a passion for something and not be able to share it with others! I love photography, especially catching little moments or big moments that you can treasure forever. So you may see some completely random shoots throughout January & February (as those are considered the "slow" months) Probably lots of Kayla! and maybe some Kayla....with a bit of Kayla.

Anyways, I hope you all had a great Holiday Season!

Rylie

A few months ago her mother appeared on my blog with her belly pictures, now it is Rylie's turn!

Talk about the ideal newborn shoot! First off Rylie is so very tiny, I could put her inside of any basket. Second, awesome lightening the whole shoot. (Didn't even setup equipment)Finally she didn't cry once! Because she was amazing and well-behaved, I knocked out her shoot within an hour.

By the time I left wanted to take her home! She was so stinkin' cute! Well enjoy the pictures!!

Zoey & John

Never again will I get such an awesome opportunity to shoot a wedding like this again! I had a blast shooting them and capturing their wedding day.

The ceremony took place in the Zombie room at the Geppi's Musem downtown and the "after" ceremony pictures took place right in front of Camden Yards. It was a lot fun!

John & Zoey were adorable together and even though John was not for all the picture taking, I think they turned out great!

Kayla Clare

(That's my daughter fyi) And yes, this is a personal post. How else would you get to know me?

So I decided to take Kayla to Hot Pots in Timonium. It is one of those places you go to and paint your own cup, mug, plate, etc. We needed a present for my dad, her g-daddy's, birthday. Well we ended up picking up a stein. Not for his beer, seeing as he doesn't drink at all, that wouldn't make much since but rather for his ice cream<---that makes more sense, right? The man could live off ice cream! And the stein was perfect because he always eats his ice cream from a mug or some object with a handle.

Anyways, the cup turned out like you would expect it to turn out. After an hour and half of being there a majority of the cup was painted. I know it didn't matter what it looked like, he would love it! So here are a few pictures I took while we were there, enjoy!

Babies!! Love them! Just want to hug and kiss on them but since they aren't mine I get the joy of taking the pictures! Jayden is 2wks old and is growing beautifully. The shoot took some time but we ended up with some great pictures!
The editing consisted of some airbrushing of the skin , B &W and some blue tones of course. Props were not a major part in this shoot but I did use a few. The hat was and always will be my favorite prop. They always look so cute them!
I hope to my camera gets to capture Jayden growing up because it really seems to like him!

The Holiday Season has arrived! (or I guess I should say almost). But the picture season has most definitely arrived. Leaves are changing color and more photographers are out snapping away! So why not be part of it? Persnickety is running a Holiday Portrait Special for only $90, an amazing price! The major perk about the package is me coming to you! You do not have to wait in line or worry about showing up on time.

When we are finished shooting, I will weed through any pictures that may have bad lighting, blurring or someone blinking. Then we will meet up again so you can choose your favorite 15 and which images you would like to be printed.

This is an incredible deal and I hope you all take advantage of it! Happy Holiday's Everyone!

Second wedding out of the way!

My second wedding took place on October 9th. (So I do apologize for the late post!) It was a wonderful wedding. It was def. more of an intimate affair. Everything took place at the same location<---which on my end is perfect! The house was goregous, the ceremony was lovey and the reception was tons of fun!

Kevin and Julia were adorable together and were very happy! Congrats you two!

One wedding down!

One word to describe this wedding was: happiness. I would say love but that is such a given. Everyone there was filled with so much happiness and joy for Ashley and Corey. This marriage was a long time coming and I think I speak for everyone who was there that it couldn't have been more beautiful!

The bride, Ashley, looked stunning and the groom, Corey, looked quite handsome! The ceremony was very focused on the marriage and that the LORD was blessing them with each other. The ceremony itself was so serious that I was not allowed to take any pictures throughout. Which personally, I was bummed out about but it turned out ok!

Overall, it was a beautiful wedding, filled with happiness!

Rylie Noelle and Mommy...

Or you could call it a maternity shoot. Lakisha ( Rylie's Mommy to be) and I had a fun shoot on Saturday. For being due November 5th, I think Lakisha is looking great! She is so ready to welcome Rylie into the world!<---(I can't wait to take her pictures!)

About the shoot:
Started in her house in different areas but mainly where the natural light was shining in. It took a couple of try's to get the right settings on my camera to work but when it was all said and done the pictures turned out great!

We then proceeded outside to take a few more shots, but that ended up being atleast 150 more shots that turned out gorgeous. The lighting was perfect and Lakisha looked so pretty! I was very happy with the outcome.

Can't wait for my next maternity shoot!

Sadikshya

We had a great time today shooting! Sadikshya and I go way back! And we hadn't seen each other for awhile so the shoot was a good excuse to catch up! I didn't realize how much I had missed being around her! She really knows how to make anyone smile.

So about the shoot...let's just say it was a very short one. She was dressed in a gorgeous sari, that took quite some time to put on! So we were crunched on time once she arrived but I think the end result was completely worth it. In total, it lasted about minutes but we were able to get about 40 pictures out of it.

The editing is still in progress, but of course I had to get some done! I stuck with the typical b&w, blue tones, and adding saturation to most of them. I really didn't want to do too much with the pictures only because the sari was so pretty (and so was Sadikshya) that all the extra editing was not needed.

I hope everyone enjoys the pictures!!

What's next?

A question that should go without being answered. I have learned very well thanks to yesterday!
( got my keys locked in the car and had to pay a locksmith the money I had put aside for my husband's birthday) "Plans are made to broken" " If you want to make God laugh, tell him about your plans." etc. Tons of quotes about making plans and having them ruined. I was so frustrated with myself but stuff happens, you cry about it, then you have your mother basically tell you to get over it and go on with your day. <----(She has no pity!)

I am so excited about all that is planned this coming up fall/winter. I just so hope and pray that everything will fall through. And if they don't for some reason, I will just have to laugh because that's all we can ever do!

Notice anything different?

Well, if you haven't taken a look at Persnickety's website lately you might want to check it out. It has a whole new look to it! I designed my old website and yes I loved it but this website I love more!! I could have easily done the same exact thing using my husband's website, building stuff, but I did not want to get in his way<---(he is quite the busy one these days and you all remember what happened last time...) So I took it upon myself and found a new love....wix.com. (light bulb went on) Wix is an EASY way to build a website for yourself. You can pick a pre-done template and make it your own. It took about a day and half to do mine. I will probably be making some changes to it over the next few weeks but for awhile I think I will continue having an affair with wix ( Sorry Hubby!). Make sure to check it out! It's really simple but still fun!

Andy and Kim

"Andy Hughes, Andy Hughes, Andy Hughes!!!" That was the normal call he got from me when he came over to hangout with my brother. (Even today he will get the call from me) Well now its going to have to be, " Andy Hughes and Kim x3!!" because he is getting married. Andy was and still is like a brother to me. Our families lived right behind one another and over time became great friends. So when my family found out that he was getting married we were thrilled for him but more worried for the girl that was going to be stuck with him! Kim, the girl who is going to be stuck with him forever, is a complete sweetheart! She compliments Andy quite nicely and I don't think we, as his "other family," could have asked for anything better.

Congrats you two! Many blessings on your marriage! Kim good luck with Andy! And Andy remember that she is always right, no matter what! (<---you will find this in the new husband handbook).

New logo...new blog (on the outside)

...same old me on the inside! anyways...

See the new header?...I am about 90% sure that this the new logo. I have a few more things to mess with such as color and all, but other than that I think it will work. I kept the original heart concept from the first logo but did away with the corny script. It just simply wasn't me : /

Along with the new logo came a new simple but modern look to the blog. I didn't really care for the template I had chosen. The bright colors caught my eye originally but now I just want all eyes on my logo ( and my posts of course!) . Nothing to busy or trendy. ( I am anti-trendy when it comes to certain things...damask, blue and brown, pink and green, tiffany themed weddings, uggs, white on white wedding cakes etc.) I will add and take a few more things away to the blog within the next few days.

But make sure to enter the giveaway if you haven't already!! A free shoot...who would pass that up? Night!

Farmer's Market

I had a blast this morning at the farmer's market! I went with my my husband and daughter, who seemed to have just as much fun as I did. While I took a few pictures here and there, the two of them sampled some kettle corn and bought some delicious tomatoes.

For lunch we decided to eat there. The two of them shared a crab cake and I bought some cold squash soup ( completely vegetarian ) and completely delicious! I can't wait to go back next week!

What a day!

AOII!! What a great group of girls! I had a long morning with them and really enjoyed taking their pictures. They take group pictures at the beginning of each year to get ready for recruitment (basically to show off what AOII has to offer) and this year I got to capture AOII.

This was my first time dealing with a large group of people (good practice for the wedding!) and let me tell you my throat was sore when I was finished. It was a lot more difficult telling people where to stand and what not. But by the end I got the hang of it. Besides not being comfortable with large groups, I had forgotten my other lens that would have been sooo very helpful in this situation. I do not want that to happen again but better now than later.

Overall, it was a great day! Thanks again ladies!
