Kayla's Dance Recital

Kayla's dance recital can be summed up in one word: HILARIOUS! Of course the older girls took the performance very serious but not my daughter. She had a blast! She went out on the stage and didn't miss a beat. She did every single step that she was suppose to do and more! Atone point during the show, she didn't get the cue to come off the stage. So there was Kayla, just standing out on the stage all by herself, smiling at the audience. Someone eventually went to fetch her, which I don't think she was too happy about. (chuckle)

During her final performance, she decided that it was her time to shine again. When the music ends you are suppose to throw your arms up and smile. Well Kayla decided to dart up to the front of the stage and then throw her arms up and smile. When her instructor finally noticed, she had to a bring her back down. While this is all going on, the whole audience is rolling. Kayla was definitely a show stopper.

She had a great time and we can't with for her next big day!

Twins!

They always say thing are always better in pairs and after this weekend, I am completely convinced! I had a great weekend with some of my favorite nephews and my one and only, favorite niece! My sister's two youngest, Andrew and Lauren, are twins that are nothing alike! (which from what I hear is pretty typical) Andrew is and always will be defined as wild man. While Lauren is a mama's girl and she is a sweet as can be.

I knew I wanted to get some pictures of them this weekend but finding time was difficult. My daughter, Kayla, had her first dance recital, so I was busy running around getting things ready. Luckily, right before they left we found some down time and I was able to get a few shots.

No flash was used during the shoot because the room we were in had great natural light. <----Which I love by the way! Since I am still learning how to use manual over auto, I used the twins as guinea pigs. When I went into editing them, I did a few B&W and on a few I messed with the blue tones a bit. Their eyes are gorgeous, so I of course made them stick out by brightening the eye color. I love doing shoots with family! It always makes me smile!

Happy Belated Thanksgiving, Christmas and everything in between!

It has been quite awhile since I had posted. My only excuse is the holidays consumed too much of my life along with Kayla and my husband. But now I ready to focus on Persnickety and getting my name out there!

One way I was able to that this past November was to go and take pictures @ the MMRF Race
( Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation). What an awesome experience! Words can't begin to express the amazing feeling that was surrounding everyone that day. It was a long day but completely worth it. (The pictures are posted at the begin of all this babbling I am doing)

The New Year is right around the corner, literally 4 days away! My personal resolution: get back to running ASAP. I will be training for two half marathon, one in the spring and the other in the fall. My business resolution, like I mentioned above,is to get my name out there! It can be quite frustrating to have such a passion for something and not be able to share it with others! I love photography, especially catching little moments or big moments that you can treasure forever. So you may see some completely random shoots throughout January & February (as those are considered the "slow" months) Probably lots of Kayla! and maybe some Kayla....with a bit of Kayla.

Anyways, I hope you all had a great Holiday Season!

Rylie

A few months ago her mother appeared on my blog with her belly pictures, now it is Rylie's turn!

Talk about the ideal newborn shoot! First off Rylie is so very tiny, I could put her inside of any basket. Second, awesome lightening the whole shoot. (Didn't even setup equipment)Finally she didn't cry once! Because she was amazing and well-behaved, I knocked out her shoot within an hour.

By the time I left wanted to take her home! She was so stinkin' cute! Well enjoy the pictures!!

Zoey & John

Never again will I get such an awesome opportunity to shoot a wedding like this again! I had a blast shooting them and capturing their wedding day.

The ceremony took place in the Zombie room at the Geppi's Musem downtown and the "after" ceremony pictures took place right in front of Camden Yards. It was a lot fun!

John & Zoey were adorable together and even though John was not for all the picture taking, I think they turned out great!

Kayla Clare

(That's my daughter fyi) And yes, this is a personal post. How else would you get to know me?

So I decided to take Kayla to Hot Pots in Timonium. It is one of those places you go to and paint your own cup, mug, plate, etc. We needed a present for my dad, her g-daddy's, birthday. Well we ended up picking up a stein. Not for his beer, seeing as he doesn't drink at all, that wouldn't make much since but rather for his ice cream<---that makes more sense, right? The man could live off ice cream! And the stein was perfect because he always eats his ice cream from a mug or some object with a handle.

Anyways, the cup turned out like you would expect it to turn out. After an hour and half of being there a majority of the cup was painted. I know it didn't matter what it looked like, he would love it! So here are a few pictures I took while we were there, enjoy!
